Our Mission

We are a microschool on a mission to grow happy, healthy, confident children and families by building strong roots in faith, character, and real-life skills.

  • We believe children learn best through meaningful, real-life experiences. Our days are spent mostly outdoors, in the barn, and in the community. Learning through doing is at the heart of our pedagogy, caring, observing, and growing together. With intentionally small class sizes, we are able to meet each child where they are developmentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Through a combination of teacher-led learning and child-led play and projects, we incorporate gardening, farm chores, creative play, prayer, Spanish immersion, and equine and animal-assisted learning, into our daily routine. I believe this is how children best build confidence, resilience, responsibility, and a deep connection to God’s creation.

    • Faith First – We are biblically based, grounding our teaching in Christian values, character development, and stewardship.

    • Children Are a Gift – We honor childhood as sacred, believing children are entrusted to us by God for a season.

    • Whole-Child Wellness – We prioritize a non-toxic, nourishing environment that supports children from the inside out.

    • Connection Over Convenience – Relationships, presence, and meaningful work matter more than speed or standardization.

    • Strong Roots Lead to Strong Lives – We focus on life skills, emotional regulation, responsibility, and independence that prepare children for the real world.

  • Growing Roots Farm School began with a personal search for the right preschool for my daughter. I longed for a nature-based environment that honored childhood, encouraged curiosity, and allowed children to learn through hands-on, outdoor experiences. Oh, and make it bilingual too! While I appreciated elements of Montessori, Waldorf, and Reggio Emilia philosophies, I struggled to find a program that also upheld biblical truth and Christian values.

Many nature-based schools embrace spirituality and worldviews that separate creation from the Creator. We believe the world is not neutral—and raising children is not neutral either. Every environment, philosophy, and daily rhythm is shaping a child’s heart and mind in one direction or another.

As a lifelong horse owner and equestrian, I had already seen the powerful impact animals—especially horses—can have on children. While teaching private riding lessons and working in preschool settings, I began to notice how deeply children grew through responsibility, confidence, emotional regulation, and connection when animals were part of their learning. The question became simple: Why not blend it all together?

Growing Roots Farm School was created to do just that—bringing together faith-based education, bilingual language immersion, nature and farm life, and equine and animal-assisted learning into one intentional environment.

Here, children experience the wonder of creation while learning responsibility, perseverance, and care for others. Faith is not an add-on; it is the foundation.

Our heart is to partner with families in raising children who are grounded in truth, rooted in character, and equipped to thrive in the world with courage, and confidence.

The formative years of our children are so very important and I want to start by saying thank you for being here. I deeply appreciate you considering us for the care of your child.

A little about me, I was born with an adventurous (and slightly rebellious) spirit. The oldest of nine children and the daughter of an avid outdoorsman, my childhood was filled with adventures and a deep appreciation for the mountains and the natural world.

My family began attending a small bible church when I was around 10 years old and it was a pivotal moment for my family and my life. Attending bible camps, and going to church instilled in me a deep sense of belonging, and provided a foundation that continues to keep me rooted and guide me today.

In my professional life, I've worn many hats, from Certified Nursing Assistant to a special needs reading tutor with AmeriCorps. I even pursued my passion for language by becoming TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certified and ran my own successful adult learner English program for several years. While the pandemic presented caused me to shut down and pivot, it also led me to a new chapter: becoming a mother. (My favorite chapter so far.)

Becoming a mom was a life-altering experience. I knew I wanted to create the best and most enriching environment for my daughter possible, and so I quit my job and began working at preschools in my area. Through this experience, I realized my calling: to create a school that promotes biblical values and provides children not only with academics, but with meaningful agricultural education and life skills. Thus, Growing Roots Farm School was born.

I invite you to schedule a tour of Growing Roots Farm School to learn more about our unique approach to early childhood education. I'm confident you'll find a nurturing and enriching environment where your child can thrive.
